Corn Field

For this project I was determined to use as many different processes that I could, so I kept refining it throughout the semester.

Bronze and Nickelsilver are the main materials along with some green day-glow acrylic plastic. It is designed to be a horderve pick bracelet / gauntlet. For the picks, the Corn "tops" are cast bronze, with a soldered jump ring to the bottom. I cut and sanded the pick part out of day-glow green acrylic and used epoxy to attach them to the corn.

For the rest of the piece I made nickelsilver tubing, drilled holes in the sides. Then I cut out the leaf shapes out of nickelsilver, soldered them to wire, and then to the tubes. I then cut an abstracted shape of a tractor out of bronze sheet, scored and forged the shape and soldered the tubes to it. Finally I cut the same shape out of day-glow green acrylic, heated, and formed it inside.
